Hello guys!

For those who have lost track of time, the JAE results were released yesterday at 6am, and sad to say, many of the juniors had to appeal. From what I heard, even for NYJC, people had to queue to appeal. The queue went all the way into night-time.

Aren't you guys glad you were borned one year earlier?

Anyway, saw the following video from a random junior's blog- Mr. Tang kena taupok. Funny to say, is by 407 of 2008. One year's difference. We couldn't do that to Mrs Wong then, though. (Thank goodness.)

I hope all of you are doing well in your respective institutions. More importantly, hope your red packets suck-ation went well...

Last but not least, all the best for A'Levels at the end of this year!

Yep, even less than half the class showed up for the chalet, disappointing to say the least.

I do hope there will be a class outing soon, it's just a case of someone stepping foward to the plate and organizing it. I kinda lost any drive to organize anything 'cos like the chalet, there's a distinct lack of appreciation when any of the usual suspects try to get us together. Say "sian" don't want come liao, it's hardly a excuse. Makes me wonder why do I even bother.

Ok, rant finished. Well, I didn't think a lot of people went back to Xinmin on the 23rd, I certainly gave it a miss. Shout out if you did! Damn the school admin if anyone.

lol i has fixed the class blog. (with l337 css and image editing skills)

apparently the image host from blogskins died long ago, but i couldnt find a proper (free) photoshop alternative to edit my own image to replace it.

stumbled upon Paint.NET which is like photoshop basic. not to shabby, supports layers, effects and stuff. although alot of stuff is not that automated. esp in the layers aspect.

First of all, I'd like to thank all who took the time to attend the chalet, be it for the full shot or just dropping by.
I'd also like to thank your understanding for the financial part of the chalet, it really helped me a lot.

Chalet details

Well, chalet is again, on the 24th -26th of December, which is Wednesday to Friday.

Cycling should have a part in the activities, and someone bring along a soccer ball, volleyball too.

Not forgetting cards and mahjong sets for nocturnal entertainment!

This is the plan for now, meet at Compass Point at 1300hrs on the 24th, where we will set off.

I will take a worst-case-scenario $30 per head, if there is any surplus I will refund accordingly.

Its the travel season, in the past and next few weeks people have and will be going to exotic and mysterious lands. Yes its an exaggeration. Well, I'll be going to Taiwan for a week from Monday onwards, so this'll be the last post for a week(not that its updated regularly). From the first pic... that reminds me. I've just finished Call of Duty: World at War! Somehow it just manages to convey emotions of war to the player, but I know this is nothing compared to being on the field, knowing that there's a 80% chance you'll won't make it back. According to the game, 60 million people died as a result of WWII. This carnage of such magnitude should never happen again. Not at any cost.

Well, we got a NTUC card courtesy of LJ! So the chalet'll be much cheaper.

If possible we'll upgrade to a duplex, so theres like HECTARES more space. And for $20 more only.

Date is 24 25 26 December, its really not so easy to coordinate all dates together as a better one, 'cos X mas season is generally a huge stand down( for me at least).

I'm sure most of you know about the word "f**k". Chances are you hear it at least once everyday, either from someone else or from your own mouth. You'll also find that it is one of the most versatile, if not THE most versatile word in the English vocabulary. You name it, we'll put it in a f**king sentence for you, no matter what the f**k.

Now though, with the ingenuity of some fellow (ex)classmates, we have a substitute! And we don't have to censor this one 'cos the Americans still don't know it yet.

NED!!!!!

The word "ned" is derived from the word "need", but as with the degeneration of the human civilization, one "e" has been omitted to save 0.0002 calories.

"Ned" was first coined together with the term "ned chez", which meant "need cheese". Classmates visiting AMK Hub were addicted to bars of fried cheese sold in the basement.

It soon became a drug like substance, and they have been roaming the land ever since for this decidedly rare breed of cheese, uttering "ned chez" in times of deprivation.

Over time, "chez" was soon rendered a bit of a tongueful, and people stuck with "ned".

Ned, like f**k, can be used to describe pleasure, pain, hate and love. We will explore the various usages of the term that so rightfully deserves its place in the dictionary.

A few examples:

People:
That guy is so ned.
"Ned" in this case, could mean the guy is cool, ugly, idiotic, hilarious, interesting, whatever. Judgement on the exact meaning of the term will have to be made on sight. Distinctive could sum it up here.

Materialism:
This shirt is so ned la.
It could mean a very "loud" shirt, extremely over the top, which is almost always the case. Otherwise it could mean that the shirt is extremely nice.

Actions:
Ned la you.
Signifies bitchiness, indifference, selfishness, shamelessness. The trend here is rather on a negative note.

Academics:
You got such a ned score siol.
Again, it could mean that the mark is very high, or simply pathetic

Ned answer.
Generally utterly stupid answer. Comes with stupid questions normally. XD

I'm sure you can think of many other uses for the term, but for now let us toast the birth of this new word to replace an ageing expletive.

This blog has been dead for some time, and i think it is only fair that i do something about it. Life ain't that good right now for most of us, all the stress and the fatigue accumulating which ain't going away anytime soon. One thing i'll have to tell you guys is that we're really becoming more bonded and bonded with each passing day, something i know Mrs Wong will be proud of. I went back to school some time ago, and it so happened that a teacher was talking to me when she spoke about our class. That was when i finally knew that Mrs Wong cared a lot about our class, and she was clearly aware that our class had many different cliques, and that we weren't bonded actually. It sorta made her sad, but she pretended that she didn't know. I guess it was the only solution back then. In any case, i'd just like y'all to know that it has been the most pleasant time of my life, when i was in xinmin, and that you guys are the best pillars of support for me, and i believe for everyone else who's in this class. Please do keep in contact when possible, and let 4o4 stand the test of time.

*On a side note, im really sorry that i didnt send you guys all the pictures and all, cos im very lazy and busy. However, if you really want some pictures, just pass me your thumbnail and i'll get it transferred over asap.

2 years of 04 has closed with a rather smoky finale(you know what i mean.)

2 years of joy, disappointment, laughter, anger barbecued to perfection on pit C16, in a torrent of rain, wind, noise and smoke. The spirit shown in a short 4 hours showed me what we were as a class. Resilience, determination, to get the BBQ going, Thinking positively, every fibre of one's body praying for the heavens to cease its mood swings. Finding humour in the process as well, no matter how bleak the situation has become.

We need not be in the classroom only then do our qualities as a class shine through. I quote from a magazine : Anytime, Anyone, Anywhere. It matters not where we are at any given moment, we still practice what we preach from the classroom, and to great and absolutely GLORIOUS effect. It is evident from that failed midnight pool game to the bedding problems, It is all for one, one for all. Failed we may have in uniting all 43 people, but for those who choose jump on the ever-enthusiastic bandwagon, you will find we have become more than friends. It is a close-knit family.

Take the cast of Under One Roof for example. they may come from wholly different backgrounds, one is even some bizarre international hybrid, but one look at their tearful goodbyes let you know that they regard themselves as one, as a family, well and truly under one roof. Or even Friends. The inexplicable chemistry is ever present despite dumbing down from showbiz, and is unlikely ever to fade.

Same goes with us, really. We come from all sorts of little nooks and crannies, but we have still all wound up in the little room, a stage to present something we have worked on for 2 whole years, some 4 , even more. Friends are like wine, really. They just get better and more priceless as it matures. From the evidence, we are one hell of a Cabernet. Or a cocktail using some expensive and old booze. Tastes like orange juice, but blows your head off after 2 sips, 'cos there's too much damn goodness in there.

And with hindsight, I think it was really destined to rain. Heaven was crying at what was possibly the biggest, and possibly last(hope not) outdoor gathering of one of the best families in the world, soon to be confined to the dusty vaults of history, never to be seen again. Pity.

But rest assured, the memories will be the polished, shining, pure gold trophy in the centre of the "Bloody Good Times That I Had"cabinet of the big grey blob in our skulls. As I quote from "All We Are" by OneRepublic...

Hello all, been a while since i've posted anything decent, so here's the heads up, the chalet will be held on 4th to 6th December, this coming tuesday to thursday. We will most probably be meeting at hougang interchange on tuesday afternoon at approximately 1-2pm, if you happen to be interested to meet us first you can contact either me or shirleen. I will be ordering the food from a bbq caterer and depending on the attendance i will collate the total amount of money and splitting it accordingly, and do indicate if you are going for the barbeque session, but it'll be a great session to catch up, so please do turn up for it. I roughly estimate that each person will be paying about 20dollars for the food and chalet, might be lesser depending on attendance. Okay, so moving on i'll be talking about what to bring and what we might most probably be doing.

I reckon its the same shit, though i'll plan it out first to make things flow more efficiently, cause if its free and easy we'll most probably end up doing nothing. So for the first day i think we'll be settling down in the afternoon, do some catching up before we go for dinner together, before we'll go back to the room for some mahjong or dvd session ( this, i need a laptop or something ). After that we'll most probably be going for night cycling and a movie session, and then supper. We'll be walking back though.

So the very next day it'll be a breakfast session, before we head back to decide which group heads to escape and wild wild wet, i'm quite scared of heights though but its worth the scare occasionally. Then we'll maybe have a game of soccer or something, long time since we had a game together. Finally, the bbq. I've yet to grill food for a long time, so im quite looking forward to this one. Will play some stupid games in the meanwhile, with forfeits! After that you guys can go for some pool or arcade session.

And finally we end if off by having talking throughout the night, before we get some sleep and end this chalet. Breakfast the next day, maybe.

I know the activities sounds a little predictable, but the main purpose is after all to gather and talk about whats going on in our lives. After all we hardly have time now that most of us are either working or overseas, so its a good opportunity to reminisce what we've done for the last few years.

Bring all the shit you think we can possibly do, like cards, mahjong set, laptop or dvd player, to spice up the chalet. We're gonna have a live gig by weijin cos he just got his electric guitar, and i dont mind singing. After all its what i do when im really bored. See you people at the chalet!

Now, do remember to bring the basic toiletries like toothbrush, soap and a towel. Not to forget a lot of t-shirts, bermudas and undies. Just in case you get smashed by some cake or drenched with soda. Do take care of your own stuffs. You can get it from him to photocopy a copy for yourself, or look for either Ginny, me, Hui Jing, Cheryl, Jian Wei, Cun Kuang, Kah Meng, Yie Sing, Cassandra, Sandra, Shi Ling, Evelyn, Chin-Wen or Yeong Jing as we have the copy too.

I know that the answers to the essay questions weren't printed, but that's only because our nice teacher didnt give me the answer sheet. Lol. I'll post the answers to the essay questions here this Thursday, so do remember to come and check, and inform your friends too.

The following are the answers for the MCQs.

Those who got the answers from Mr. Chee earlier on are to note that there is a change in answer for question 37, the correct answer is C instead of B.

The answers are supposedly correct as they are done by our teacher. ^_^

the typical singaporean society is...shall we say relatively dishonest...for example if you find a nice W810i(everybody seems to be gunning for this fella, not sure why) on the bus, only a select few would ever return it.... TBH i know its damned f**ked of me, but i would keep it. leave the SIM card, maybe.
And just imagine yourself if you were the culprit and you were handing the card over to you...2 words: THE SHAME.
Might sound bit stereotypical , but that's how it is, especially the nigh-on-impossible task of the person returning the spent out cashcard to you.
still, pray hard all the same...there's always a faint glimmer of hope out there....

Paiseh, forgot to say write my name when I wrote that cashcard message.
I'm HuiYing larh.

And I think the person who replied misunderstood my message.
I wrote that even if the person used up the money inside I would still like the card back cos that card is NOT mine, not because I suspect someone took it.

Perhaps to that you, it's impossible for that person to return it to me, but duh, I'm imploring the impossible here, why else would I appeal for it to be returned?

And yes, Jian Wei and the girls who came on the first night already knew about it and they've already tried to find it. I'm just hoping that if they clean the chalet or something and they find it and it's given to you guys, you guys would know who to return it to.

SOrry if my message wasn't clearly phrased, and I just hope to get my card back, not training for debate competition here. =)

it's all very sad that you lost the cashcard, but of course we must clarify a few things:

Who are you?
We're out of the chalet, we can't look out for it.
If one of us took it, we would have enquired during the chalet, as i don't think we are that dishonest.
Even if it was stolen, and the $$$ was spent, are they ever going to return it to you?

So, you'll have to pray really hard...
